Marching Forward…

Friday, March 20th, 2009 | UFO's, blah blah blah, fiber, knitting, spinning, yarn | 1 Comment

Ok, I am determined. I am determined to finally get my shit together and start doing what I need to do. I keep putting things off because I need to deal with real life, but real life is overrated. So I am buckling down…working on logo ideas…trying to knit and spin as much as I possibly can. Come on! I know I can do it!

So, on the agenda:

Finish the Kusha Kusha Scarf.

The lavender Stainless steel/silk and taupe wool look good together.

 Finish my True Love socks

Maybe get this sweater done?

I really suck when it comes to actually working on sweaters...

Learn to dye roving and maybe a sock blank…

I have almost all the supplies I need...

Maybe start selling some things on etsy perhaps. I have only been talking about it FOREVER! Over the past week I had people ask why I am not selling my needle protectors or stitch markers online. Why am I not selling them, who knows?

In other news, I also recieved a lovely package from Stashymama on Ravelry. She sent me some batts from the fleece she bought at Stitches. All cleaned and fluffy. I can’t wait to start spinning them. Lucky me, now I can because I actually cleared my bobbins off last night! I finished spinning and navajo plying the last of my pink and brown Merino/tussah that I purchased in November from Bee Mice Elf. Go me!

Yay! New fiber!!

So many WIP’s, so little time…

Sometimes I feel like it takes feats of super-human strength to get on the computer. I have been gone for a whole week! In my defense, it was a very busy week. Chock full o’ trips to places like the pediatrician. Luckily, we are all on the mend and hopefully the worst of the nastiness is over. It’s been a week of good news too though…..and for a few days I thought I lost my knitting mojo, but have since gotten it back! Yay!

Last night was the weekly stitch ‘n’ bitch. I didn’t end up taking Lucy with me, because I had volunteered to knit a cowl for the shop.

So, Stephanie had a bunch of patterns and yarn out for the cowls for the shop. I had picked the Abstract CaterPillar Cowl but had realized it was a quick knit and had only a few rows to go by the time I left the shop, so I also grabbed the Bubbles and Cables Cowl to work on. I started that one this morning…

The Caterpillar cowl was knit up in Colinette Zanziba and some ribbon in the same colorway. I loved the yarn, but think this pattern would look cool in some of my hadnspun. I am shopping the stash as we speak so I can knit another one. The Bubbles and Cables Cowl is being knit up in Aslan Trends Invernal. Really, I didn’t think the yarn was something I would use until I picked it up and took a good look at it. It is Angora, Merino and Nylon and has a pretty little halo when knit up. It is sooo soft too. It is a worsted weight yarn, so I may buy some to work on that Wolly Wormhead Mystery Beret Knit-a-long I am trying to convince everyone at the shop to do with me. I am an enabler. <evil grin>

Even though I had lost my mojo for a few days…well maybe a week…I did  *actually* get some work done on projects I already have on the needles. I did two repeats on my monkeys and one whole 20 row repeat on my Iceland sweater. A little sad, I know, but at least it was *something*. I was actually starting to enjoy the even rows on the sweater. Knit the knits and purl the purls. It was very calming during a very stressful week. Now If I could just do that and not have to contend with the odd rows…

Holy crap! I have a long way to go! I would try and tackle this tomorrow, but my friend and I will be at the shop for the Monkey KAL and class. We have 3 students slated for tomorrow. I imagine not much personal knitting will get done, but we are both pretty jazzed that people keep wanting to take the sock class. I have ideas for some classes to teach after the new year, but I think I will keep those to myself for now. I have a tendency to pile on. I do have enough going on right now, don’t I? :D
