Friday Night
Just another Friday night…
I left work a little early this past week so I could make it to the shop in time to grab some dinner and do some teaching. A few of us grabbed some dinner, but of course the night started off weird.
We chowed down and commenced knitting and spinning.
For the ladies spinning, it was their first time. I got to do a little teaching and with some help from Mei Lan, we got the girls spinning in no time at all. Of course, we all started getting goofy towards the end of the night.
I dunno, potty training twins was pretty tough. I can’t imagine trying to potty train an animal.
Another Friday Night at my LYS…
I figured if I am not putting out the amount of FO’s I would like (an explanation to follow soon), I might as well write about somebody else’s projects.
I went to the shop this past Friday to find some new people hanging out. I am always into meeting new people, and luckily, meeting people who are also into fiber arts is easy. You see someone knitting or cro-ing on the street and you have a reason to go talk to them. For someone like me, who can be shy and awkward sometimes, it is a good way to break free of my fears and approach new people.
So I met this lovely woman named Virginia. She might have me beat in the crazy department. When I say crazy, I mean that in the best possible way, for I am in awe of her skills. I thought I was nuts working my Insanity Blanket on size ones and making it king sized? Get a load of this:
I wish I would have asked her what size hook she was using. It is amazingly intricate, and she is making it up as she goes along! She has no pattern and told me she can’t read patterns so she makes up her own stuff! Amazing! She is making this king sized too…so she has totally “Captain one-upped” me with this one.
And check out this baby blanket she is making! Awesome!
