Ok, so I have gotten a bit sidetracked as of late. I guess it is your quasi-normal “life” type stuff keeping me from visiting my blog…despite my having a lot to say.

It’s just been a little crazy with all sorts of things being flung into the mix. I had a funeral to go to last week, currently the folks in my condo building are all fighting with each other, and did I mention my Mother-in-law has been in town for the last three weeks (oh, and she’s renovating…)?

So, during this crazy time. I have had a chance to really think about the state of the stash. Some of our recent, unplanned renovations have forced me to take a hard look at what it is I have.

Above you will see what is the majority (not ALL) of my yarn stash in file boxes. I have had no desire to buy yarn or fiber lately,thankfully. Last weekend, I went to Vogue Knitting Live (which I will write about later) and I barely even looked at yarn. It’s a good thing, especially since when packing all of my life’s possessions, I realized that I had things I don’t even remember buying.

I have decided that from now through the rest of 2011, I am going to start knitting some of this down. What is stopping me from using this as a time to just knit a bunch of random things? I can keep some for myself and give some away as gifts. I don’t have to have a plan for *everything*.

I also plan on starting this weekend. I am almost done with the baby blanket I am working on and Friday I am headed to Tehachapi for the 3rd annual CogKNITive Fiber Retreat. I can lock myself away in my hotel room Friday night and knit to my hearts content. I’m taking some hat patterns and yarn. I could fly through those…
